Day 5/6: Taipei → Hualien

The next 7-day tour in Taiwan is just… BLANK
I have to keep referring to the itinerary just to update because the pictures don’t help at all!! And by the way, I really hate joining tours because going to museums, pearl/lingzhi showroom isn’t something I enjoy at all.
But the last 2 free and easy days were awesome!! The 7 of us whacked as many Night Market as we could handle and it was just eat shop eat shop eat shop eat shop all the way
Okay so anyways, we left Kinmen early, touched down Taipei before being whisked immediately to our coach to begin the tour. It’s very tiring having to rush all the time. In fact, throughout the 7-day tour we did nothing but shuttle from one place to another and having to change hotels every night (with the exception of the extra 2 days we extended)
Can you imagine?
Taipei >> Hualien
Hualien >> Taitung
Taitung >> Kaohsiung
Kaohsiung >> Taichung
Taichung >> Taipei
Madness right? I feel as though we literally cover the whole of Taiwan!
Day 5
Back to the first day of the tour – Chiang Kai Shek Memorial Hall. I wished I took more beautiful photos but I was in a horribly grumpy mood because I lost one side of my contacts and had to wear my glasses which kept sliding down.

Heh, people of good taste!! Lol.

Lover’s Bridge in Fisherman’s Wharf
Finally it’s over! Herbal jacuzzi in each hotel room @ Alive Regimen plus sauna. Relaxing… my sister and I soaked our achy achy bodies for a good 20 minutes followed by sauna! Got steamed pretty intense though :/
Day 6
Coached down to Yehliu Geopark (野柳风景区) to see some rock formations that were formed by erosion and such. Tourist populated and not forgetting lots of rude Ah Tiongs, it was quite a nightmare.

This is the "Fairy Slipper" Rock – coolios!

And the overrated "Queen’s Head" Rock
The green thing you see above is tempura seaweed. Pretty good! Next was to Chiufen. Food food food at every nook and cranny. Check out some of the things we ate:

Can’t remember the name but I didn’t like it

Sun Biscuit!! Super good
I have a box of it at home now
I would’ve whacked more 臭豆腐 unfortunately all my cousins were so unsupportive. They’d cringe, make faces, groan and moan whenever I squeal "OMG I SMELL IT!!". Only my cousin-in-law (Irene) was my partner in crime. Lol. But I think SG’s Xing Zai one is still the best.
Starshine we have to go there soon!
Took a train to Hualien and had dinner. The bamboo rice is pretty unique and all of us had to whack it open on a rock just to get the rice out. Taste wise nothing special though. Right after dinner both Irene and I braved the rain drizzle to scamper to the nearest 7-11 for…
Get any drink(s) worth NT40 from Uni-President and top up another NT30 to random pick a Hello Kitty figurine! Too bad you can’t choose so I didn’t manage to get the Aries one
I got Scorpio and Irene got Aquarius.
