Day 4: Kinmen - 干杯!!

This adorable beagle belongs to the neighbours and he enjoys sneaking over once in a while. Well at least he’s active and hopping around, unlike my cousin’s black dog who always goes into hiding. And the only few times I actually see him he’d be at the drive way sleeping or looking extremely sedated =.=
The weather started deteriorating and I’m glad one of my cousins loaned us thick sweaters the night before because the following day was one of the coldest in Kinmen. The still-air was already so cold and can you imagine how much worst it was when the wind started blowing?
The temperature easily dropped to at least 7-8 degrees

Info about Kinmen Kaoliang Liquor
We did a lot of touristy things, visited musuems, parks, lakes, temples and other whatnots. Kinmen is still considered relatively under developed due to military reasons and in fact, the most commercial thing we saw was a 7-11 and Hang Ten
There really isn’t anything exciting there to do plus the 14 cinema theatres that have been there previously have all closed down. Worst still, most resedential area are built away from the city which means you can’t just conveniently "pop" by as and when we like but even if we do, there isn’t anywhere to shop! Okay to be fair the city isn’t all ooey pooey. There are cafes, little shops, one rather chic hotel, police station, a high court and random mish mash.
The next stop was to Kinmen Kaoliang Liquor Factory!
We got to sample the Kaoliang you see above, it’s "chun" (pure) and it was the most potent one I’ve ever drank! 2 shots and I was RED. My cousin said it’s the most natural form of makeup and I agree – that is if people actually apply blusher all over their face!! Lol.

OMG the Kaoliang looks more and more potent!!

The one in vest is another one of those "special guest"
;)
And here’s a video:
The longest lunch I ever had – we sat there from about 12 plus all the way to 3pm just eating and drinking and eating and drinking
Headed over to my other relative’s place after that.
Ahhhhhh my TW nephew is so cute oh man!! He was sooo painfully shy he refuse to open his eyes thinking we can’t see him as long as he cannot see us. He would giggle, cover his mouth, whine, all with his eyes closed. Lol.

Peanut candy is another famous produce from Kinmen. In total we bought SGD300 worth of it, crazy right? There were like cartons and cartons and cartons!! Pure madness.

Oyster veggie pancake! Super yummy

That’s my cousin’s granddaughter and I swear most of the babies and kids in Kinmen have huge black eyes!! It’s like in all of their genes or something.
Chen Chen with my sister and cousin! Hahaha, my sister thinks she’d grow up to be a heartbreaker and a bratty princess. Lol.
The girl in blue beside me is one of my TW niece. We call her 小鱼儿 because that’s her pet name. Oh I didn’t mention we were all at a KTV (which is inside a police station) after dinner since it’ll be our last night in Kinmen. Flying off next morning back to Taipei.
OUCH!! My TW cousin was helping me to "gua sha" and massage but it hurts so badly that I had to grab on to 小鱼儿’s hand
Aye!!

Can’t keep my eyes off your super duper CUTE boots
