Second Book Out

Can somebody please explain, WHY, after so many goddamn bloody years, PEOPLE STILL SQUAT ON TOILET BOWLS?!

WHAT.THE.FUCK?
emoticon

Do you know how INCREDIBLY disgusting and inconsiderate this is? If you bloody well want to bloody squat, go to a bloody SQUAT CUBICLE INSTEAD If you think the toilet seat rim is dirty, WIPE IT. No tissue? Then go to the squat hole instead. Don’t, for the love of good manners and hygiene, step on the seats!

There are people out there who will want to nestle their two buns on it. And no, we don’t appreciate having to wonder if the black scratch stains on the toilet cover ever consisted of any human/dog faeces. Gross gross gross!

And if you’re a mother, please don’t EVER encourage or make your kids step on the seats, WITH THEIR SHOES ON. This is 2008, people stop doing that about 10 years ago. I can’t believe new malls like Vivo are still facing problems like that.

Incredible.

Saturday

Lots of eating once again! (I have more pictures but will only post some; rest I will upload it to FB soon)

We had a quick breakfast at MacD’s around 9-ish, before heading to Sim Lim to look for his battery operated digital frame. Unfortunately, a quick check with most shops brought back negative results; all ran with AD/DC adaptors. Oh well, he’s just gotta make do with good ol’ fashion print outs and cork boards!

Yay to craft work this coming week emoticon

P/s Why does my camera have this habit of altering the colour of my eyes occasionally?

Futile trip led to a very grouchy stomach so it was lunch soon after at Thai Noodle House, AGAIN! You can tell when I really love a particular food place – I just can’t stop patronising it!!

Coronation Arcade, nestled in between the other bigger complexes.

Tom Yum Noodle Soup – SGD7

Belechan Fried Rice – SGD8 (thereabouts)

Red Ruby – SGD2.50

Bernie says it’s the best Thai food he’s eaten so far but I’m still not going to say that till I try "First Thai" at Purvis Street. Apparently my mother and sister are full of praises for that place!

After lunch we took a bus down to Arab Street to meet Sheela and Marcus. Bought a couple of knick-knacks which I will show you once I’m done putting it together. Had another round of lunch at Zam Zam Restaurant.

Sardine Murtabak

Took a bus down to Vivo afterwards!

DAISO!! The broom is undeniably adorable. If manufacturers were to put in more effort and make household appliances this cute, I would be more than happy to sweep/mop/dust my house.

It felt like only 5 minutes later when dinner time came. We eat too much and too fast Lol, anyway Marcus brought us to Lock Road for tze char dinner. Yum

Bali Seafood Restaurant

Check out how big the prawn is in comparison to the 20cent coin!

Bali Seafood is DELICIOUS TO THE MAX emoticon
We had Deer Meat (4.5/5), Pumpkin Prawn (4/5), Toufu (2.5/5), 3 Egg Vegetable (3.5/5) which totalled to about 70$-odd for 6 pax. It’s really unfortunate that I started developing an allergy! I’m still wondering which one’s the culprit.

My fave!!

Sheela’s very cool "myopic specs"!!

If you look carefully, my right eye was starting to swell

Took a really frightful stroll at the canopy walk (so HIGHHHH OMG!) before heading to HortPark after our meal emoticon

ARGHHH Swelling even more!!

It basically got worst:

There are only 2 reasons why my eyes will swell.

  1. When my body is very "heaty"
  2. Allergy

And it’s easy to differentiate which is which. If it’s (1), I would have symptoms before that, i.e. flu, fever etc but if it’s (2), it comes without a warning and then WHAMMM! If it’s not so serious, I’ll just have severe swollen eyes. If it’s really really serious, I’ll basically have difficulties in breathing and yes, choke.

ALLERGIES CAN KILL.

I’ll never forget that fatal night on 3rd April 2 years ago. I had a bad fever when my then boyf bought me a pack of asprin. I am allergic to a list of drugs but I didn’t know my body couldn’t take asprin.

So I popped TWO pills and he fetched me home. It started out with a bad swell to the eye, which I thought was common since I’m fever-ing but it got worse. I started wheezing and everytime I took a deep breath, I could feel my windpipe closing in one me and the walls of it rubbing against each other.

I was literally out of breath and close to collapsing. And you know what I wanted to do? I wanted to just "sleep it off". LOL! How stupid right? I figured it’ll probably be okay by morning. Luckily my dad was in and he rushed me to a clinic. They took my blood pressure and gave me a shot to relieve the swelling of my respiratory system.

I remembered the doctor telling my dad thank goodness he brought me here in time or I would have just not lived past the night. And yes, the doctor still had the cheek to say to me "let me be the first to wish you happy birthday" emoticon

Anyway, it was a big lesson to learn from it so I will always be very careful whenever I consume medicine. By the way, I’m allergic to regular Panadol, but not Panadol Extra. Weird right? Which means also means more $$ wasted because the regular ones are cheaper.

I have a list of things I’m allergic to:

  1. NTUC brand of instant noodles (I kid you not, my eyes swell after eating it in secondary school)
  2. A particular brand of mineral water (that’s why I only stick to a few brands)
  3. Regular Panadol
  4. Ibuprofen
  5. The entire Penicillin family
  6. Asprin

So far that’s about it? I’m still thinking what is it I ate at Bali Seafood that made me unwell! By the way, after I reached home, BOTH EYES swell (but it wasn’t so bad) and I started wheezing a little when I got home. Thank goodness Bernie spotted my swollen eye during dinner and I kept drinking lots of water ice so it didn’t turn out so bad

It actually helps flush out the allergen I think?

I think I should just buy one EpiPen just in case something shitty happens and nobody’s around or something like that. But the thought of administering an injection on yourself is really quite frightful.
